Ickey Woods shuffled his way into the NFL as the 31st overall pick of the NFL Draft, out of UNLV. He had a record breaking rookie season, setting team rookie records for rushing yards (1066), touchdowns (15), and 5.3 yards per carry. The Bengals made their second Super Bowl appearance in 1988, facing the 49ers on January 22 in Miami. Woods had another strong game with 79 rushing yards, but the 49ers were too much for the Bengals. Final score: 20-16. 2023 marks the 35th anniversary of Woods' historic rookie season.
